Ed Gabriel

With more than four decades of experience in tax planning and business advisory, Ed Gabriel serves as President of DrillDown Solution, LLC. A licensed CPA in Utah, Ed is a trusted advisor to dental professionals and high-net-worth individuals across the country. He leads the firm’s efforts in tax planning, business development, and advisory services, and is known for his hands-on, relationship-driven approach to client success.

Ed specializes in advanced tax strategies for high-income earners, dental practice transitions, and fractional CFO services. He provides strategic guidance on profitability and cash flow planning, and also supports clients with comprehensive family office services, including advising on private real estate, private credit, and private equity investments.

Since joining DrillDown Solution in 2009, Ed has helped numerous dentists successfully acquire practices and has saved clients tens of thousands in taxes during business sales and transitions. A frequent speaker and thought leader, he has presented at national industry events including the IAOS SleepCon (Cancun, Mexico), the Thriving Dentist Webinar, and the Practice Valuation Study Group Conference in San Diego.

Ed earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University. His early inspiration for accounting came after a pivot from pre-dental studies, guided by a desire to understand business and serve others with integrity and insight.

A lifelong learner and Eagle Scout, Ed is known for his accountability, innovative thinking, and love of helping others. He enjoys fly fishing, playing the guitar, and has even surfed a wave in Hawaii at age 70. Originally from Connecticut, Ed now lives in Lehi, Utah, with his wife Liesa. Together, they’ve raised four daughters and are proud grandparents to 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A guiding principle in Ed’s life comes from a favorite quote by President Russell M. Nelson:
“The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.”
